Fire Advisory in Effect - April 16, 2025

As a result of the high temperatures and drying conditions, the Fire Danger Rating in Saddle Hills County is now HIGH.

In response to this, Saddle Hills County has issued a FIRE ADVISORY, along with other local municipalities.

Controlled burning in the Non-Forest Protection Area, including on privately-owned land, is now limited to campfires, burning barrels, and hand-piled wood, two cubic metres or smaller.

Burn permits are still required and will be issued on a case-by-case basis. Large fuel burns will not be permitted at this time.

The Fire Advisory will remain in effect until conditions improve.

Volunteer Nomination Form

 

Saddle Hills County is accepting nominations for individuals that deserve special volunteer recognition.  Saddle Hills County Volunteer Appreciation Awards are designed to recognize individuals and organizations who committed their time, skill, and energy to their community, regardless of their age!

Please note, that Volunteer Firefighters and First Responders have separate annual recognition events around Christmas of each year. The Volunteer Appreciation Awards are not intended for recognition of fire departments or wildfire response. 

All nominees will receive a letter to them for their community contribution. They will also be invited to attend the Volunteer Appreciation BBQ to be part of a presentation from the Reeve and Council, including Steak Supper! All nominations will also be published on our website and social media channels.

You may submit your completed nomination in one of three ways:
